BD Blunt Filter Needle with Filter – 18G x 1.5” sterile
A 40mm long needle, cut at a 45° angle with a blunt finish.
The needle’s unique design prevents cork cavities and other contaminants from entering the preparation, and additionally prevents personnel from puncturing (the force required to penetrate the tissue is 10 times higher than with conventional needles).
Penetration of the packaging stopper requires only 2.5 times the force required for needles with a blade. The needle cap is equipped with a 5-micron filter, which eliminates 98% of particulate matter when drawing from the vial. The needle is suitable for dense and viscous agents. Different colour coding of the cap and coloured sheath prevent confusion with standard needles.
